A Heritage Rooted in the Congo
Jonathan Muteba was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo — a country of immense cultural richness, deep resilience, and a people defined by their capacity to endure and create.
Coming to Boston at a very early age, he planted roots in the Revere community — a city known for its diversity, its blue-collar grit, and its sense of belonging for those who arrive from somewhere else.
Math, Chemistry, Sports — and a Desire to Help
Growing up, Jonathan discovered three things he loved: math, chemistry, and sports. More than anything, he loved helping people. These converged into chemical engineering — not because it was expected, but because it made sense of everything he already was.
Building the Foundation
Jonathan earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from UMass Lowell, then his MS from Northeastern University with the Gordon Institute Engineering Leadership Certificate. InnerCity Capital Connections, Cambridge CIC Early Stage Cohort, and the Gauntlet AI Program expanded his reach beyond the classroom.

Entrepreneurship, AI, and What Comes Next
Jonathan founded Brilla Life Sciences and Brillaverse, then turned his attention to artificial intelligence through the Gauntlet AI Program. He is not waiting for the future. He is building it.
